 I.O.W CUSTOM SHOW

Having just got back from the iSLE OF WIGHT the response i have got from the stand that we did in the custom show has been amazing.  I will be adding all our photos and info about the DDK shortly. I would like to thank everybody that brought their scooters and helped us on our stand you all helped to make it a great day.... more soon

July 2010, I.O.W the launch of the DDK.

After the sucsess of the Whitby show with VFM,  I have been asked to do a stand at the Isle of Wight custom show.  I have decided to launch the long awaited DDK street racer series at our stand in the show.  It is a livery we have been working on for the last 4 years and now it's here.  The idea behind the design is a top quality paint job of a race scooter sytle in-keeping with same kind as the 80s DTC, with a modern twist.

The DDK will be a limited run scooters, each one slightly individual to the customers preference, i.e all the airbrushed graphics and layout will be the same, but the main colour of the scooter will be the customers choice. The customer has the choice of their own numbeer, once it has been taken it can't be used on any other DDK, also the riders name (optional) will be traditionaly sign written on the side panels making this a one of a kind. A deposit will be taken to secure a booking and a number.

About the Paint.

Each scooter will be done from bare metal, etch primed and flatted. Then  primed with 2k primer basecoat and airbrushed then finished with 9 coats of 2k clear lacquer.  Lastly machine polished to a glass like show quality, as seen on all my scooter paint jobs.

The SCOOTERING MAGAZINE Competition

As part of the launch I have teamed up with Scootering Magazine to do a special one off paint job of a DDK  paint livery to celebrate their 25th anniversary. This full scooter panel paint job is going to be a prize in the compeition in the August edition of Scootering Magazine.  http://www.scootering.com/  see for more details of how to enter.

These are some computer designed images of what kind of options that can be done with different colour styles, but the lay out stays the same each time.

2008 At  H.O.K in Doncaster I had the pleasure of meeting Jon Hall the technical director for the company in the states. The "Master" as he's known over there for his amazing spraying. He's the one that invents most of the colour range for H.O.K and is Jon Kosmoski's right hand man. You can ask Jon anything about paint, there's nothing he dosn't know.  After a couple of cups of coffee we came up with the idea of doing his portrait on a bonnet .  I was doing a seminar in front of the sprayers that was on the H.O.K course, so it would be something a bit different for them to watch and Jon liked the idea.  I gave it a go and here's the result.  Jon has now decided to get it shipped over to California for his personal collection.
